NA Chairwoman applauds foreign ambassadors’ contribution to strengthening ties with Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan received outgoing ambassadors of New Zealand, Chile, and Indonesia on Friday in Hanoi, where she praised the positive contributions of the ambassadors and foreign embassies in strengthening ties with Vietnam.
Receiving New Zealand Ambassador Wendy Matthews, NA Chairwoman Ngan said she believes the lifting of the Vietnam-New Zealand relations to a strategic partnership level in July 2020 will open a new chapter in and give fresh impetus to bilateral cooperation.
Chairwoman Ngan expressed her hope that the two sides will continue to bolster cooperation and share information and experience in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Vietnam National Assembly will work closely with the New Zealand parliament to realize the joint statement on the establishment of the Vietnam-New Zealand strategic partnership, she said.
At a reception for Chilean Ambassador Jaime Chomali Garib, Chairwoman Ngan said Vietnam always attaches great importance to promoting relations with other countries in Latin America, including Chile.
While receiving Indonesian Ambassador Jaime Ibnu Hadi, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said Vietnam highly valued Indonesia’s role in the ASEAN region.
She expressed sympathy and wished the State and people of Indonesia to soon overcome the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
