At a meeting Wednesday with Kamal Malhotra, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Vietnam, along with Youssouf Abdel-Jelil, UNICEF’s Representative in Vietnam, Mrs. Ngan said Vietnam was the first country in Asia to ratify the UN Convention on the Children’s Right in 1990.
She added Vietnam has a clear legal system aimed at protecting the rights of children and adolescents, enabling them to fully develop their physical and mental health and morality.
The Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to fine tune regulations and monitor law enforcement to protect children’s rights.
