(VOVworld) – The National Assembly Committees on Economic Affairs, on Culture, Education, Adolescents, and Children, and on Science, Technology, and Environment convened their first plenary meetings in Hanoi on Wednesday.

At the meeting of the Committee on Economic Affairs, NA Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien highlighted the role of the committee and asked its members to reform their working methods to fulfill the assignments. The committee is tasked with verifying projects, the law on asset auctioning, the law on foreign trade management, the master planning law, and the law on SME support. It will build a draft resolution on the socio-economic development plan for 2017 and give opinions on a report on the verification of the trans-Pacific Partnership agreement.
Chaired by Phan Xuan Dung, members of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment underscored the importance of examining the law on amendments, supplements to the law on technology transfer, the irrigation law, and the revised Railway Law. The committee will work to supervise electricity market development and electricity prices, the enforcement of regulations on irrigation works, and the issuance of legal documents on environmental protection.

At the meeting of the Committee on Culture, Education, Adolescents, and Children, participants said the committee will focus on the Law on Belief and Religion to submit to the second session of the 14th NA and examine the revised Law on Tourism.
In September the Committee will hold workshops to discuss issues with ministries and sectors in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
