(VOVworld)-National Assembly deputies on Thursday discussed the revised Law on Water Resource. Most agreed on the strengthening of supervision to make sure efficient use and protection of water resource.

Provincial People’s Committees have been assigned the planning of local water resources with approval by the People’s Councils and the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment. Deputies called for more incentives for the application of science and technology in efficient use of water while socializing the protection, development and supply of water. Deputy Truong Van Vo from Dong Nai province:“The management and exploitation of water resource must be linked to environmental protection. The State should encourage individuals and organizations to practice thrift in water use and promote water recycling. We must set up a warning mechanism to detect areas affected by water pollution.”
