(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s National Assembly elected a new Vice President, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy on April 8.

Mrs. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh won 91 percent of the votes to become Vice President. Mrs. Thinh, now 56 years old, has served as Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Women’s Union, Secretary of the Vinh Long provincial Party Committee, a member of the Party Central Committee in the 11th and 12th tenures, and a deputy of the 11th and 13th National Assembly.

With 96 percent of the votes, Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, a Secretary of the Party Central Committee and NA deputy, was elected Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court. Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh has held the position of Prosecutor General of the People’s Supreme Procuracy, a member of the Party Central Committee’s 11th and 12th tenures, Secretary of the Party Central Committee in the 12th tenure, and a deputy of the 13th National Assembly.
Le Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs, was named Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy with 64 percent of the votes.
