(VOVworld) – The National Assembly Standing Committee convened its 34^th session on Monday in Hanoi. In his opening speech, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said the meeting will focus on law building. Delegates contributed their opinions on remaining differences in the revised Law on Military Service, the revised Law on Veterinary Medicine, the Law on the Supervision of the National Assembly and People’s Councils, the Law on the Organization of Local Administration, the Law on the Government Organization, and the Law on Labour Safety and Sanitation. They also debated the promulgation of new laws as well as amendments and supplements to existing ones to ensure the implementation of the Law on the National Assembly’s Organization. Discussions on preparations for Vietnam’s hosting the 132^nd General Assembly of the International Parliamentary Union in Hanoi in March were also on the agenda. The session will continue until Wednesday.
