(VOVworld) - Narendra Modi was elected leader of the BJP (Indian People's Party) on Tuesday. This means Modi will become the Prime Minister because the BJP won the 16th lower house election with 282 out of 543 seats.
In a speech, Modi promised to fulfill all tasks assigned by the people and later met with Prime Minister Pranab Mukherjee to claim his right to form a new government. Modi will take the oath as India's new prime minister on May 26th.
