Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra said last month at the beginning of the ongoing year to year National Assembly session that the salary reform “holds historical significance and will bring joy to officials and public servants,” who will be paid according to their job position instead of the current low, unmotivating salary policy.
A resolution passed at the National Assembly on Friday also targets next year’s state budget collection at nearly 74 billion USD. Overspending is set at 16 billion USD, equivalent to 3.6% of GDP.
