(VOVworld) - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan met the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Hungary as part of her official visit to Hungary on Sunday.

Ms. Ngan said the visit aims to deepen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Hungary and its National Assembly. She reiterated that the Party, State, and National Assembly of Vietnam always support and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to serve national construction, defense, and development. The chief legislator added the 5,000 Vietnamese people in Hungary are integrating well in local society.
Earlier the same day, Ms. Ngan visited Szentendre city, a twin city of Vietnam’s Hoi An city. She suggested that in the near future, both sides will boost cooperative ties in economics and tourism.

At a meeting in Budapest with Hungary’s National Assembly Deputy Speaker Jakab Istvan, the top legislator said Vietnam is grateful for the precious assistance of Hungary for Vietnam during the past struggle for national liberation and today’s national construction.

She said during her visit, the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation intends to boost ties with Hungary’s legislature, contributing to political and diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary.
