(VOVworld) – National Assembly deputies on Saturday discussed the legislature’s personnel and a number of draft laws. They voted to elect members of the Standing Committee, Vice Chair of the Ethnic Council, Vice Chair of the Legal Committee, Vice Chair of the Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, and Teenagers, Vice Chair of the Committee on Social Affairs, and Vice Chair of the Committee on External Relations.

The deputies heard the government report on the appraisal of the draft Law on Public Investment. The report stressed the need to issue a law on public investment to avoid wastefulness and to meet foreign partners’ requirement for transparency and publicity in state management in this field. Nguyen Van Giau, head of the Economic Committee, said: “Some deputies proposed evaluating the impact of the law on public investment on other existing laws. They also suggested adding regulations on the investment of businesses using state funding to build public facilities.”

The same day, the deputies approved the Employment Law, amendments and supplements to the Law on Emulation and Rewards and discussed the revised Customs Law.
