Later in the day, delegates to the National Assembly Standing Committee agreed on the need to revise draft law on Vietnam Fatherland Front. Speaking during a session on Wednesday, participants wished to see a bigger role by the front in social monitoring and its legal outcomes. They called for a clearer connection between the front and other people elected agencies in social supervision to avoid overlapping. Deputy Chairwoman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, comments: “Supervision organization must be carefully reviewed. If we go to monitor in teams, this is administration centric. I prefer assigning the supervision to the Fatherland Front through people’s organizations.”
