National Assebly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong at an ASEAN Inter-parliamentary Assembly (AIPA)

(VOVworld) – National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong has urged Dien Bien province to focus on economic and trade development and the building of new rural areas. During her visit to the province on Monday, Tong said the province needs to make greater efforts in safeguarding security and defense, particularly in border and newly-separated districts. She called on Dein Bien to build a stronger grassroots political system and boost relations with countries that share the border with Vietnam.

The same day, the National Assembly Vice chairwoman offered incense to heroic martyrs at the Doc Lap cemetery in Thanh Nua district. She is scheduled to make field trip on Tuesday to Muong Nhe, where she will work with district authorities.
