Nguyen Hai Huu, Director of the MOLISA’s Child Care and Protection Department, said:“The forum aims to provide a venue for children to express their opinions on necessary changes to the Law on Child Protection, Care and Education. Law makers will then summarize and legalize these opinions to ensure that children’s rights are ensured as they expect. We focus on life safety and entertainment for children, and look at measures to prevent child abuse, child marriage and child labour, and to ensure the right to education for HIV-infected children and those with disabilities, among others. The children will also be informed about how the relevant agencies dealt with their recommendations at previous forums”.
Mr. Huu described the forum as a breakthrough in raising children’s voice about their rights thus raising the awareness of the parents, community, relevant ministries and sectors towards child-related issues.
