(VOVworld) - This year's Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet on Thursday.

The quartet includes the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade, and Handicrafts (UTICA), the Tunisian Human Rights League (LTDH), and the Tunisian Order of Lawyers.

The Quartet was honored for their decisive contributions as mediators to peace and democracy in Tunisia when Tunisia was on the brink of civil war.
