(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s National Tourism Year 2023 hosted by the central province of Binh Thuan opened on Saturday with an art show highlighting local natural landscape, culture, and the message of environmental protection and green tourism development.

Binh Thuan Chairman Doan Anh Dung said the theme “Binh Thuan-Green Convergence” demonstrated the determination of Vietnam in general and Binh Thuan in particular to go green.
During National Tourism Year 2023, more than 200 events will be held across 41 provinces and cities, including the Binh Thuan International Women's Cycling Tournament, the 1st Vietnam Binh Thuan Festival Award, an exhibition called "Vietnam’s marine and island cultural heritage," Binh Thuan Tourism Golden Week, and Street Culture Week.
Other notable activities are the World Performing Arts Festival, the Vietnam International Photography Festival, and the Ninh Thuan-Binh Thuan International Kitesurfing-Windsurfing Tournament.
Binh Thuan is home to beautiful natural landscape, pristine islands, and a unique sand dune ecosystem along its 192km coastline. The province also has many historical and cultural relics, along with festivals and folk cultural activities.
The National Tourism Year has been organised in rotation since 2003, featuring a series of outstanding cultural, socio-economic and tourism activities under a chosen theme.
