(VOVWORLD) - Themed 'Sustainable management, operation and exploitation of water supply and rural sanitation works', a National Week of Safe Water and Sanitation 2022 was launched on Friday in Dak Lak province.
The event aimed to raise the awareness and responsibility of households, communities, and local administrations in the management and operation of water supply and rural sanitation works to protect people’s health and improve living conditions.
Luong Van Anh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Irrigation, said, “The launch is to remind local governments at all levels and sectors to protect and invest more in water supply works.”
“More actions should be taken to manage and run water supply works sustainably, ensuring that people can use water of high quality. It’s necessary to increase communications for the public to help them well aware of the importance of safe water, investing in and protecting water supply works in rural areas,” said Van Anh.
Statistics by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development show that 90% of rural people have access to safe, hygiene water.
