The campaign aims to spread the message "Save Energy-Make it a Habit" in the energy saving program for the 2020-2025 period.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said that the running event involving over 1,500 professional and amateur athletes is expected to encourage people to save energy anytime and anywhere, making it a habit.
“With this message, we hope that all communities and businesses will join hands to protect the environment and save energy to realize the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050,” he said.
An online running event on the Uprace mobile app also kicked off on Saturday and will last until March 31.
Vietnam saved more than 20,000 USD after turning off lights for one hour in response to Earth Hour 2023.
