Party leader and President Nguyen Phu Trong sent a letter to call for public awareness on natural disaster preparedness on this occasion. Speaking in the event, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nguyen Hoang Hiep, said information technology application should be enhanced to cope with natural disasters. Awareness raising activities have taken place in various schools and communities to enhance people’s resilience against natural disasters, especially among vulnerable groups such as women, children and the elderly.
