(VOVWORLD) - A Vietnam People’s Navy hospital ship is providing medical examinations and drugs for people in the south-central coastal province of Phu Yen this week.

Held within the framework of the Pacific Partnership 2022 (PP22), an annual multinational mission for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness led by the US Government, Khanh Hoa hospital ship 561 will operate at Vung Ro port until Thursday.
The ship is equipped at the size of a district hospital and has 37 staff, including 17 doctors and nurses. It is expected to treat 180 residents and exchange profession with doctors at Phu Yen General Hospital.
This is the second time the Pacific Partnership program has been held in Phu Yen province and will run until July 3.
The hospital ship USNS Mercy of US Military Sealift Command on Sunday arrived at Vung Ro port for healthcare and community activities as part of the program.
