New cases of COVID-19 surge to 79,000 on Friday
(VOVWORLD) - From 4pm on Thursday to 4pm on Friday, Vietnam recorded 78,795 new COVID-19 infections in 63 provinces and cities. Hanoi leads the country with more than 9,800 cases. During the day, there were nearly 16,000 recovered cases and 78 deaths.
In the past 24 hours, 187,000 more doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered, bringing the total number of vaccine doses administered in Vietnam so far to nearly 193 million.
The Ministry of Health is closely watching pandemic developments caused by the new variant Omicron and engaged in regular contact with the World Health Organization to update information on virus mutations.
