Thailand recorded more than 23,400 new cases - the highest daily increase since the beginning of the pandemic. Thailand now has 863,000 cases and more than 7,100 deaths.

Data from the Mexican Ministry of Health shows that in the past 24 hours, Mexico recorded nearly 25,000 new infections, bringing the total number of cases to more than 3 million. To date, Mexico has a total of 246,000 deaths.

The same day, the Australian state of New South Wales reported 390 new infections in the community, marking the highest number of new cases in a day. Australian officials have warned that the number could rise in the next few days despite the lockdown imposed by the state government .

A spokesman for the Australian Department of Defense said that Australia is ready to deploy an additional 200 personnel plus 500 unarmed army personnel to support the state police in patrolling and monitoring the enforcement of home-quarantine orders to prevent the spread of the disease in New South Wales.
