(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam's Health Ministry on Monday issued a decision approving a COVID-19 testing plan in order to detect coronavirus cases for timely monitoring, quarantine, and treatment.

As of September 13, more than 130 labs nationwide were qualified to perform COVID-19 testis using the Real-time RT-PCR method with a maximum capacity of about 40,000 tests per day. The test kits are qualified by the Health Ministry or recommended by the WHO or the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Vietnam recorded no new COVID-19 infections as of Tuesday noon, marking 20 straight days with no domestic transmission. Of the 1,068 cases confirmed so far, 942 have recovered and 35 have died.
