New Russian Ambassador to Turkey Alexei Yerkhov on Thursday vowed to bring Russia-Turkey relations to a new height. Ambassador Yerkhov said that the bilateral relationship saw optimistic signs after meetings between top leaders of the two countries. Mr. Yerkhov praised the close cooperation between Russia and Turkey in dealing with Syria through the Astana Process, which seeks a political solution to the 6-year conflict in Syria. Ambassador Alexei Yerkhov succeeded Andrey Karlov, who was assassinated at an art exhibit in Turkey last December.
