New York cancels Democratic presidential primary
(VOVWORLD) - New York officials on Monday canceled the state’s Democratic presidential primary due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

The decision was made after Senator Bernie Sanders suspended his presidential campaign, effectively conceding the Democratic nomination to former Vice President Joe Biden.
On Monday, Sanders’s campaign stated on Facebook and Twitter its disapproval of the election board’s decision. Jeff Weaver, a senior adviser to the Sanders campaign, called the decision by the State of New York Board of Elections "an outrage, a blow to American democracy" and said it must be overturned by the DNC.
