A forum held on Sunday by Tu Mo Rong district authorities discussed ways to attract investment capital, protect and develop forest, and create tourism specialties associated with Ngoc Linh ginseng.

Attending the forum were representatives from Laos and Cambodia, and experts and businessmen in pharmaceuticals and tourism.

Vo Trung Manh, Chairman of Tu Mo Rong District People's Committee, underscoredd the necessity to define the important link of forest-Ngoc Linh ginseng-medicinal materials-tourism in developing the local society, economy, and improving people’s living standards.

“We encourage investors to survey and invest in afforestation, develop medicinal herbs, especially Ngoc Linh ginseng in association with tourism activities for a green economy," said Manh.

From Sunday to Tuesday, the Ngoc Linh ginseng market and endemic products are open at the central square of Tu Mo Rong district.

Ngoc Linh ginseng, a rare medical root containing 52 saponin compounds beneficial to one’s health, was discovered on Ngoc Linh Mountain on the boundary between Kon Tum and the central province of Quang Nam in the late 1960s.
