(VOVworld) -  The Nigerian government has confirmed the arrest of Mohammed Usman, also known as Khalid AL-Barnawi, who is believed to be the mastermind of the 2011 bombing of the UN Building in Abuja.

According to Tony Opiuyo, spokesperson for Nigeria’s Department of State Services, Mohammed Usman was arrested in Kogi state. The arrest of Usman is a major breakthrough in the effort to rid Nigeria of terrorists. Usman is suspected of having perpetrated many other heinous crimes, ranging from kidnapping of expatriates to murder and coordinated acts of terrorism.
