(VOVworld) – At least 15 people were killed and 47 people were injured by a suicide bombing in Damaturu, Nigeria, on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Toyin Gbadegeshin said a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device at a crowded main entrance of the popular Sunday Market. No one claimed responsibility for the explosion but it bears the hallmarks of militant Islamist group Boko Haram. Boko Haram has been Nigeria’s biggest security threat since the group claimed it would establish an Islamic state in the north in 2009.
