Kim Yang Gon, Director of the United Front Department of the Korean Workers’ Party, told North Korean state media Thursday that the agreement helped ease tensions on the Korean peninsula and paved the way toward peace, security, reconciliation, and co-operation. He said both sides need to abide by the agreement to improve bilateral relations.
