(VOVWORLD) - North Korea fired what appeared to be two short-range ballistic missiles into the sea off its east coast on Sunday morning, the latest in a series of launches in recent weeks.

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said they flew about 230 km and reached the maximum altitude of about 30 km. Intelligence officials of the US and South Korea are working on data to study details of the launch.
JCS has called on North Korea to halt its similar act as the world is struggling to curb the spread of Covid-19.
On Sunday, Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo asked involved agencies to collect and analyze data of the launch while stepping up measures for the safety of aircraft and vessels near the missiles’ landing spots. Japan’s Defense Minister Taro Kono described North Korea’s missile launch as a provocation against the international community.
