(VOVworld)- North Korea is making final preparations for the 7^th Congress of the Workers’ Party which is set to open on Friday.

This will be the first congress of the Workers’ Party in 36 years and the first to take place under the rule of Kim Jong Un. Delegates from across North Korea have arrived in Pyongyang for the event after a 70-day campaign which ended on May 2. At the congress, delegates will discuss major political and economic policies, long and medium-term development programs as well as personnel organization in the Party and State. The Congress will last 5 days with the participation of 3,200 delegates.
