He said North Korea is no longer interested in such talks and will no longer give the US president something he can boast of, without compensation. The US only seeks to buy time, pretending it has made progress in settling the issue of the Korean Peninsula, Kim said.

The same day, Kim Yong Chol, a senior North Korean official, said North Korea demands that the US halt military drills once and for all. He said the US should not expect any more denuclearization negotiations until it reverses its policy against North Korea.
