(VOVWORLD) - Officials of Tra Vinh and Bac Lieu province visited and presented gifts to Khmer policy beneficiaries, retirees, and dignitaries, monks and nuns at Khmer pagodas on the occasion of their traditional Sene Dolta Festival 2022 from September 24 to 26.

Most Venerable Thach Ray, Chairman of the Association for Solidarity of Patriotic Monks in Cau Ngang district, Tra Vinh province, expressed his sincere thanks for the support.
“The provincial administration has cared for Khmer Theravada Buddhism during the Sene Dolta festivals and visited the monks in the pagodas. This year the pagoda’s Buddhists have a bumper rice harvest and all Khmer people are having a very happy festival," he added.
In Bac Lieu, a delegation led by Le Son Hai, Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, visited, congratulated, and presented gifts to the provincial Association for Solidarity of Patriotic Monks, two Khmer pagodas with excellent achievements in ethnic affairs, and 30 policy beneficiary households in difficult circumstances.
Sene Dolta, which is celebrated from the 30th day of the eighth lunar month to the second day of the ninth lunar month each year, is one of the most important religious festivals for the Khmer ethnic people, along with Chol Chnam Thmay (New Year) and Ooc Oom Bok to thank the Moon for a good harvest.
