(VOVworld) – Another Korean patient has been discharged from hospital after successful treatment of the deadly Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS).

The Republic of Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare reported Friday that to date a total of 140 patients have completely recovered from the disease and only 10 patients remain hospitalized.

The newly discharged patient is a 53-year-old woman and will undergo a strict monitoring of the local medical center for a week.

Currently five people are being isolated after they had returned from Middle East countries with MERS symptoms. But they have tested negative to the virus. The five are waiting for the second test.
