At an awards ceremony in Hanoi on Monday, Prime Minister Phuc highlighted Vietnam’s achievements in promoting the development of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas. 42% of communes have met the criteria of new rural communes. The productivity of farm labor has increased dramatically and the poverty rate has fallen sharply, on average 1.5% per year. The appearance of rural areas has improved, so has farmers' lives.

"The resolution and today's event honor individuals and groups who have contributed to Vietnam's agriculture. In the last 10 years, the Resolution has made big changes in agricultural restructuring and created a modern and innovative agriculture sector. A number of high-quality Vietnamese agricultural products have penetrated demanding markets such in Japan, Europe, and America, and won prestigious international awards in ASEAN, the US, Russia, the United Arab Emirates the Republic of Korea, and China," said Mr. Phuc.

The Prime Minister urged the award recipients to continue contributing to smart agriculture, adaptation to climate change, and global integration.
