(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese expatriates around the world have contributed 1.4 million USD along with medical equipment and supplies to support the fight against COVID-19 in Vietnam.

The donation has been sent to the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Red Cross, and hospitals treating COVID-19 patients, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Minh Khoi. He said many overseas Vietnamese have also helped Vietnamese citizens stranded abroad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working closely with the aviation sector to bring Vietnamese citizens back home, with priority given to the elderly, people who are ill, people under 18, people on short-term business trips, and stranded travelers.
