Overseas Vietnamese contribute ideas to post-pandemic recovery
(VOVWORLD) - A meeting was held by the Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs on Friday to collect Vietnamese expats’ views on the city’s potential economic directions when COVID-19 subsides.

Participants pledged their willingness to contribute their intellect and other resources for Vietnam’s development. Expats put forward recommendations on how the city should recover its economy after the pandemic, which focused on boosting exports, improving human resources, developing sustainable healthcare services to increase the city’s preparedness for pandemics, and involving more expats in accelerating local socio-economic growth.
Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Pham Quang Hieu said he appreciates Vietnamese expats’ ideas and he believes the municipal administration will better engage Overseas Vietnamese in its socio-economic development.
