He said this a day after a group of Taliban militants attacked a school in Peshawar and killed more than 140 people, most of them children.
Sharif said senior political leaders, who met in Peshawar, agreed to form a committee under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to prepare a national plan of action against terrorism. The committee will have one representative from each parliamentary political party and from each of the armed forces and intelligence agencies.
