(VOVworld) – Fatah high-level official Azzam al-Ahmed has arrived in the Gaza strip to negotiate with Hamas over the next two days on forming a transitional unity government.

This is the completion of the deal that the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) signed with Hamas on April 23. The two sides will discuss forming an independent government, consisting of technocrats and led by President Mahmoud Abbas, paving the way for long-awaited general elections.
