(VOVWORLD) - Palestinian National Authority recalled Sunday its ambassador to the US for consultation over the crisis with Washington after President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
A short statement by the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riad Malki said that he decided to recall the head of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) mission in the US, Ambassador Hossam Zomlot.
On December 6, President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital and ordered to move the US embassy to Jerusalem, which met strong rejection from Palestine, the EU, Russia, China, and Arab nations.
The United Nations General Assembly voted in favor of a resolution condemning the US’s move.
