(VOVworld) – A senior Palestinian diplomat announced Wednesday that the Palestinians will submit two lawsuits against Israel to the International Criminal Court (ICC) on June 25.

Nabil Abu Zneid, the Palestinian Ambassador to the Netherlands, told the “Voice of Palestine” radio that the two lawsuits are related to Israel’s settlements in the West Bank and Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip last summer. Palestinian Foreign Minister Reyad el-Malki is expected to head the Palestinian delegation at the ICC proceedings.
Znei said one month after the two lawsuits is filed, an ICC delegation will visit the Palestinian territories to gather evidence. The visit will be the first such ICC visit to the West Bank, Gaza Strip, or east Jerusalem. The ICC delegation will talk to both Israeli and Palestinian witnesses, Zneid said.
