Panama commits to financial transparency

In a statement on Thursday, Isabel De Saint Malo, Panama’s vice president and foreign minister, said Panama’s path to financial transparency is irreversible. She said Panama willingly and actively supports diplomatic dialogue and domestic reform to address this global challenge. Isabel De Saint Malo also confirmed Panama’s commitment to implementing a bilateral information exchange mechanism in line with standards on the sharing of tax information. Panama is open and willing to engage in ongoing international dialogue with the relevant technical teams to evaluate the specific multilateral mechanisms needed to implement these standards.
