Scholars commended Vietnam’s achievements during the renewal period. Helene Luc, a former French senator and Honorary President of the France-Vietnam Friendship Association, said: "Thanks to the renewal policy, Vietnam has integrated into the world by entering ASEAN, the International Organization of La Francophonie, and signing agreements with the EU. Vietnam always wants to upgrade its role in enhancing Europe-Asia relations."

Participants said Vietnam and France have a long history of cooperation. Stephanie Do, President of the France-Vietnam Friendship Association, encouraged the two countries to boost their ties while highlighting the role of the overseas Vietnamese community in France.
