(VOVworld)- The Parliament of Wallonie has discussed the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement to submit to the regional Parliament and Administration for approval.

Held on Thursday in Namur, the meeting was attended by parliamentarians of different parties and representatives of non-governmental organizations, enterprises and press agencies of Belgium and the EU.

Addressing the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium, Head of the Vietnamese delegation to the EU, Vuong Thua Phong praised the significance of the meeting of the Wallonie Parliament. He said this is the first new generation agreement that the EU negotiates and signs with a developing country and a comprehensive and fair agreement that brings benefits to all parties. The Ambassador highlighted the cooperation between Vietnam and Belgium and the Wallonie region in particular and expressed his hope that Wallonie would support this agreement.
