Party and State leaders pay tribute to late PM Vo Van Kiet
(VOVWORLD) - Activities are under way to celebrate the 100th birthday of late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet on November 23.

On Tuesday, Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Bình Minh led a delegation of the Vietnamese Party and State to lay a wreath and offer incense at Vo Van Kiet’s tomb in Ho Chi Minh City.
The same day, a national symposium was held, honoring the late PM as an outstanding leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution and a contributor to national development.

Born in 1922 in Vinh Long province, Mr. Kiet, known as Sáu Dân was elected Prime Minister at the first session of Vietnam’s 9th National Assembly. He served from 1992 to 1997 and is remembered as the architect of Vietnam’s economic reform in the 1990s. He died in June 2008 at the age of 86.
