At the plenum, which concluded in Hanoi on Sunday, the Committee also adopted reports by the Politburo on the nominees to the presidium, the secretariat and the eligibility verification board on the delegates of the 13th National Party Congress.

The Committee approved the reports of the 12th Party Central Committee on the documents to be submitted to the Congress and the personnel work of the next Party Central Committee, and gave comments on the summary report on the Party’s financial work for the 2016-2020 term.

The Committee requested a thorough review of preparations to ensure the success of the 13th National Party Congress slated for January 25.

The Party General Secretary and President affirmed that the 15th plenum, the last plenum of the 12th term, was a success. Preparations for the Congress have basically been completed and work has been done in a very strict, democratic, fair, objective, methodical, and creative manner.

Mr.Trong emphasized that the long-awaited Congress will open in just one week. This is a major political event of the Party and the nation which officials, party members and people are looking forward to and have high expectations on.

The Party Chief and President urged the Party Central Committee members to continue to promote the sense of responsibility and spread the good results of this plenum to the entire Party, people, and army to live up to expectations and make the 13th National Party Congress a success.
