(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has stressed the important role of military forces in combat and production. Trong, who is also the Secretary of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam, was speaking to delegates to the 8^th Military Trade Union Congress in Hanoi on Monday. He said: “The Congress is of great importance because we are implementing the guidelines of the 11^th Party Congress and the 9^th Congress of the Military Party Committee as well as Resolution 20 on building the working class in national industrialization and modernization. Our country is experiencing positive developments and at the same time facing a lot of challenges. The military trade union plays an important role in this work”.

The Party leader expressed his hope that the delegates will honor their vanguard role in the patriotism emulation movement, disseminate and implement the resolutions of the Congresses effectively in order to contribute to national construction and defense.
