Party chief urges continued reshuffle of local military organizations, border guards
(VOVWORLD) -General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, on Wednesday stressed the need to continue to arrange local military organizations and the Border Guard in line with the Party and State's policies and ensuring effectiveness and efficiency.

General Secretary Lam chaired the 13th Central Military Commission meeting to give opinions on the project for organizing local military forces "lean, compact, strong" to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation. Also attending were President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
The General Secretary also requested the rearrangement the provincial military commands and border guard’s commands according to the merged provinces. The process must be comprehensive, coordinated, and consistent with the national defense policy and the strategy of protecting the national border.
He also called for building a regular, elite, modern local military organization and provincial border guards with a reasonable organizational structure, meeting the requirements of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
