Colonel Le Quoc Huy of the Permanent Office for United Nations Peacekeeping at the Ministry of Public Security said ensuring security and safety is the top priority in any challenging mission.

“As officers in charge of project and funding management, our role is to understand the needs of, and propose support for, South Sudan’s police. In the year and a half since the first team arrived, we’ve taken on key responsibilities and made significant contributions that were highly appreciated by the mission,” said Huy.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Luong Thi Tra Vinh, a member of Task Force 1 at UNMISS and Commander of Peacekeeping Police Unit 1, said, “When participating in UN missions, in addition to performing our duties, another priority is promoting the professional image of the Vietnamese police and demonstrate our ability to take on multiple responsibilities in a multinational environment.”
