Mr. Trong addressed the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union Congress in Hanoi on Wednesday. He said: “Every cadre, member, and farmer must understand that the industrialization and modernization of rural areas and building new rural areas are the cause of all people, in which famers are main players. Farmers will implement the drive and enjoy its fruits. By doing so, we will mobilize effectively all resources of the peasant class and economic sectors in Vietnam and abroad to make Vietnamese agriculture, farmers, and rural areas develop rapidly and sustainably. Efforts should be made to build a prosperous agriculture, rich farmers, and modern rural areas.”

The Vietnam Farmers’ Union was urged to improve farmers’ knowledge and skills and provide members with consultations on advanced technology as Vietnam is implementing its international commitments on free trade and greater international integration.
