(VOVworld) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has praised the Vietnam National University as a leading institution in Vietnam’s education system. Trong was speaking at Monday’s ceremony on to mark the 20^th founding anniversary of the university on December 10 in Hanoi: “The Vietnam National University in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city plus other key universities need to try their best to lead the tertiary educational system and scientific-technological studies to an advanced level. First of all, it’s necessary to effectively implement the Resolution of the 8^th plenum of the 11^th Party Central Committee on radical reforms of education and training and the Resolution of the 6^th plenum of the 11^th Party Central Committee on scientific and technological development. In addition, the Vietnam National University should be a vanguard in acquiring regional and global technological advances”.

Party leader Trong also called on the university to improve the quality of education and tertiary management.
